Nodes Shifting to Pisces – Virgo Axis
Introduction
In a birth chart, the Nodes symbolize the karmic themes of the soul’s journey and how it can grow through them.
The South Node represents the energies you’ve mastered in past lifetimes. Because they feel familiar and comfortable, you may lean on their lower expressions—falling into old patterns or attachments, rather than stretching yourself. Yet that very familiarity gives you real strength in these areas.
The North Node, on the other hand, is your medicine! It points to the soul’s intended lessons for this lifetime. These qualities are new and often uncomfortable, so you may resist at first. But when you embrace your North Node, you align with your purpose: you overcome limitations, expand your soul, and open the path to evolution.
The house placement of each Node in your chart gives you more information about what area of life will be the arena for these lessons.
Lunar nodes moving towards the Pisces-Virgo axis: January 2025 – August 2026 (mean nodes)
At the start of 2025, the transiting Nodes shifted from the Aries–Libra axis to the Pisces–Virgo axis. For the previous eighteen months, with the North Node in Aries and the South Node in Libra, we focused on asserting our independence and transforming the way we relate to others.
Now, with the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo, we’re invited to release our worries to a higher power and emphasize compassion and spirituality in our daily lives. There is a call to balance practical concerns, health, routines, and details with faith and self-compassion.
Collectively, this nodal shift will surface Pisces–Virgo themes on a broad scale. At first, Virgoan energies may feel overactive or out of balance: we might worry more about our health, obsess over routines, or fixate on minutiae.
This particular 2025 shift is amplified by several planets also transiting Pisces, which heightens the pull of the North Node’s “new-beginnings” and soul-purpose energies.
On a personal level, any mutable signs in your birth chart, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and especially Pisces can feel triggered during these eighteen months. If you have planets or points in those signs, or if you’re experiencing a nodal return, opposition, or square, you may notice these lessons intensify in your life.
South Node in Virgo
Virgo is the archetypal “Humble Servant.” Its earthly, practical energy drives us to master useful skills and make a real difference in others’ lives. Virgos are responsible, detail-oriented, and systematic, with a natural talent for problem-solving and a genuine desire to bring order to chaos. Ruled by Mercury, Virgo’s approach is analytical, precise, logical, and fact-based.
With the South Node in Virgo, we’re invited to acknowledge both our Virgo strengths and our shadow side. Every zodiac sign has a luminous expression and a shadow expression, and this nodal placement calls us to shed the latter in favor of the former.
On the shadow side, Virgo energy can become obsessive: excessive comparison, overthinking, and worry. Service can turn into a duty, morphing into control or harsh criticism of routines and people. When plans derail, Virgo may sink into guilt, self-criticism, and discontent. And the impulse to help can flip into self-sacrifice or frustration if our efforts go unrecognized.
To work with this placement, ask yourself:
- Where in my life do I worry excessively?
- Where am I overly attached to order or perfection?
- Where do I tend to sacrifice myself or feel taken for granted?
- How can I set healthier boundaries and let go of perfectionism?
By shining a light on these low-expression patterns, we gain liberating clarity. Through self-love and acceptance, we reconnect with Virgo’s pure intention to serve to then surrender our efforts to a Higher Power.
North Node in Pisces – Medicine
To heal our South Node in Virgo and use it as a steppingstone for evolution, we’re called toward the Piscean energy of self-transcendence and unconditional love. With the North Node in Pisces as our “medicine,” we release our critical mind and perfectionist tendencies. Instead, we learn to see imperfections as beautiful expressions of vulnerability and authenticity.
Wherever Pisces falls in your chart marks the life domain where compassion, acceptance, and faith become your path to growth. Pisces’ traditional ruler, Jupiter, and its modern ruler, Neptune, inspire generosity, optimism, and an expanded consciousness. They invite us to merge with the divine and rekindle our dreams and imagination.
During this transit, we connect more deeply with our spiritual and compassionate side. We integrate the mystic and empath within us, and our creative imagination often feels amplified. It’s essential to set aside time alone for self-reflection, meditation, or any practice that nurtures inner peace and spiritual vision.
At the same time, we must guard against Pisces’ shadow: getting lost in daydreams, extreme idealism, or oversensitivity. Without grounding practices, we risk confusion, escapism, or addictive patterns. Cultivating clear boundaries helps us honor Pisces’ boundless empathy without losing ourselves.
Balancing the Pisces–Virgo axis means weaving spirituality into our everyday lives—bringing healthy routines into our practical world so our spiritual nature has room to flower. Please, be mindful about what you consume physically and mentally too. When we care for our body, mind, and emotions as one integrated whole, we become more conscious of our soul’s connection to all beings.
Remember: these are the cosmic energies available to you, but you have free will. It’s up to you to seize these opportunities and do the work.
Thank you for being here! I hope this helps you understand the soul’s journey for the next eighteen months under the Moon’s Nodes.
With love,
Marcela
