September 2025 Eclipse Season
This second eclipse season of 2025 will bring two powerful eclipses:
- September 7, 2025: Total Lunar Eclipse – Full Moon at 15°22 Pisces (2:08 pm ET)
- September 21, 2025: Partial Solar Eclipse – New Moon at 29°05 Virgo (3:54 pm ET)
What are Eclipses?
Eclipses occur when the Sun, Moon, and Earth align closely with the Lunar Nodes (within 15°).
A Lunar Eclipse takes place during a Full Moon, when the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, casting its shadow and blocking the Sun’s light.
A Solar Eclipse happens during a New Moon, when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, momentarily interrupting the Sun’s light.
From an astrological perspective, eclipses are karmic gateways because they activate the transiting Lunar Nodes—the evolutionary axis of the soul. The house or houses activated by the eclipse in your chart show where energy shifts are most likely to happen, while the sign reveals how those changes may unfold. Because eclipses also stimulate your natal Lunar Nodes, they always invite you to ask:
How is this adjustment helping me move toward my soul’s evolutionary lessons?
Total Lunar Eclipse – Full Moon at 15°22 Pisces – September 7, 2025 – 2:08 pm ET
This Total Lunar Eclipse falls close to the North Node in Pisces, highlighting endings that move us toward soul growth. The North Node always represents what is new, unfamiliar, and sometimes uncomfortable, but it is also where our soul has committed to evolve.
This eclipse occurs along the Virgo–Pisces axis, reminding us that we are both body and soul. Full Moons call for balance: we cannot serve only the body, routines, and material demands (Virgo) without also nourishing our spiritual life, vision, and creativity (Pisces).
At this time, we may become aware of habits or patterns that no longer serve us, prompting us to revise our mindset and release limiting beliefs. We are gently guided to create authentic connections, moving away from illusions or emotional dependencies. These attachments, though familiar, need to be released so that we can make space for new growth.
The mix of Virgo and Pisces energy also brings up themes of guilt, shame, and unnecessary sacrifice, especially with Saturn retrograde in Pisces. We are called to restore our self-worth with compassion, bringing balance to the places where we have given away too much of ourselves or carried more than was ever meant for us. Pisces energy is mystical and intuitive, these changes are often initiated by the soul itself. It is now up to the rational mind to surrender and allow the flow.
Jupiter’s Role
Jupiter, the traditional ruler of Pisces, is in mutual reception with the Full Moon, making this eclipse especially supportive. Though emotions may be heightened, Jupiter’s expansive influence brings faith and optimism. With its trine to the Moon and sextile to the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, Jupiter encourages growth, confidence, and the unfolding of our highest potential. The area of Pisces in your chart points to where this expansion is most likely to manifest.
Neptune’s Presence
Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, is retrograde at 1°11 Aries, a potent cardinal degree that evokes the archetype of the spiritual warrior. This reminds us that surrender is not defeat. Letting go does not mean losing, it often becomes the greatest gift. This eclipse invites us to courageously release the past, embrace new beginnings, and align with a renewed vision that gives us purpose and momentum.
As Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, its lessons open us to higher wisdom and trust in forces greater than ourselves, all working toward our evolution. Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces later this year, showing that the vision we are shaping now has been unfolding since April 2025. What we refine during this cycle will reach its full strength in 2026, when Neptune re-enters Aries, marking the beginning of a new collective spiritual chapter.
Mercury and Discernment
Mercury, co-ruler of the Virgo, Pisces axis, is in Virgo and conjunct the Sun, giving it strength and clarity. This empowers discernment, insight, and even epiphanies. Conversations, journaling, and reflective practices may bring breakthroughs that help us process unconscious material rising to the surface. With Mercury opposing Saturn, this lunation reminds us to commit to the process of release with humility and discipline, balancing the Virgoan need for order with Piscean surrender.
Who will feel it most?
While this eclipse will be felt collectively, it will be especially strong if you have planets or angles around 15° Pisces, or in any of the other mutable signs—Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius.
The Eclipse Series
Eclipses work in cycles, weaving together themes over time. The Virgo–Pisces axis activated by this September 2025 Lunar Eclipse connects back to the Lunar Eclipse of September 16, 2024, and further to the seed planted with the New Moon at 20° Pisces on March 10, 2024.
This story will reach its conclusion with the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 28, 2026. At that time, the North Node will have shifted into Aquarius but remain close enough to the Pisces Full Moon for the event to be an eclipse.
Each of these moments builds on the other, forming part of a larger karmic and evolutionary thread. Together, they remind us that soul growth is not instantaneous, it ripens over time, through cycles of release, clarity, and new beginnings.
As we move into this Pisces Full Moon Eclipse, give yourself permission to rest more deeply. Reorganize your schedule to allow space for reflection, and pay attention to your dreams, journal about any vivid images or messages that arise.
Ask yourself:
What are the stories I tell myself that I intuitively feel it is time to redefine—because they are stealing my peace today?
Love,
Marcela
